Little Library and Pantry 2020

History of Our Food Pantry

Food Pantry 955 x 768 OUR FOOD PANTRY HAD BEEN CLOSED DUE TO THE PANDEMIC. BUT AS STATED ABOVE, WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF RE-IMAGINING IT BY NOW OFFERING A MONTHLY DRIVE-THRU FOOD GIVEAWAY.  In the interim, we stocked our Little Library (pictured above) with food items.  Our Little Library is located in the east parking lot located in the rear of our building.

Prior to the pandemic, our regular food pantry served about 100 families per month from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. The average family consist of about 3 people. But we need your financial assistance to enable it to perform its mission again. When contributing, please designate that your contribution is for the food pantry. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the parish office (314-367-2314).

Typically, we provide a variety of perishable and non-perishable foods that are donated or purchased from donations. We occasionally get laundry soap, cleaning supplies, toilet tissue, hand soap, shampoo, feminine products, tooth brushes and tooth paste. Each family representative is required to submit a photo ID and proof of income.

An additional aspect of our food ministry is our outreach nurse is on hand during pantry hours checking blood sugars, taking blood pressures, consulting with clients about their health issues and educating them about nutritional support.
