Can You Please Help?
(NOTE: OUR REGULAR FOOD PANTRY IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED DUE TO THE PANDEMIC. SEE THE ANNOUNCEMENT ABOVE ON HOW YOU CAN STILL HELP RIGHT NOW. PLEASE CHECK BACK FOR UPDATES). During normal operations, our regular food pantry serves about 100 families per month from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. The average family consist of about 3 people. This is one of several outreach ministries of our combined congregations. But we need your financial assistance to enable it to perform its mission. When contributing, please designate that your contribution is for the food pantry. If you are interested in volunteering please contact the parish office (314-367-2314) and ask to speak with the manager, Louise Trudo, or Prince Thomas.
Typically, we provide a variety of perishable and non-perishable foods that are donated or purchased from donations. We occasionally get laundry soap, cleaning supplies, toilet tissue, hand soap, shampoo, feminine products, tooth brushes and tooth paste. Each family representative is required to submit a photo ID and proof of income.
An additional aspect of our food ministry is our outreach nurse is on hand during pantry hours checking blood sugars, taking blood pressures, consulting with clients about their health issues and educating them about nutritional support.
